Enabling Root user in Mac OS X Lion

Hello All,

This post is regarding enabling the root user in your Mac OS X lion.It is a very simple topic but while accessing root i had to google it for enabling root so i thought to share with u all.  By default  Lion user is enabled , so geeks who wanna enable root user can follow certain easy steps as shown below.

 Step1-  on your Mac PC open System Preferences

Step2- From System Preferences window select User and  groups following window will open

 
Step3- click on the lock icon in lower left corner  and enter the Lion User password  when prompted. which is blank by default.


Step4-  After entering password following window will appear.Click on join option


Step-5 After clicking on join option prompt will appear.
Step6- Click on open directory access

Step7- Now click on Edit Menu , option will appear to enable root user. click on that option.


Step8- You will be prompted to enter root password.

Step9 -  open Terminal . type su - root
and enter the password

step10- type id


Finally we have root user.
